This section contains the lyrics to some of my favourite songs. As far as music goes, I'm mostly into stuff from the seventies and eighties and the songs featured here reflect that.
Although I am a fanfic writer, I have not used any of these songs in a songfic, mainly because that particular fanfic genre doesn't seem to gel with my writing style. Also, there's a strong tendency towards plots that revolve around the "pining for a lost love" theme". Nothing against songfic writers personally - I just choose not to write such fics.
That said, on to the songs. I wrote down the lyrics myself based on what I could hear while listening to these tracks - so any errors are entirely my own. However, I did NOT actually compose the lyrics and all these songs are copyrighted to their original composers. This is just for fun - I'm not doing this for personal gain.
Oh, and the girl you can see at the top is Malin, the Guardian of Modern Music - she's from Amanda's Guardians.
These Dreams: One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I've heard, it was a hit for a group called Heart in the late eighties.
99 Red Balloons: A UK chart-topper for the German group Nena in 1984 - contains an anti-nuclear message
Gold: This Spandau Ballet song from 1983 is one of those that seem to sum up what the eighties were all about
Who's Leaving Who: This song was a hit for Hazell Dean in 1988. It sounds corny, but the catchy beat more than makes up for that
Moonlight Shadow: This haunting track was a hit for Mike Oldfield (with vocals by Maggie Riley) in the 1980s
The Final Countdown: This rock ballad was a chart-topping hit for the Swedish group Europe in 1986
Somebody's Watching Me: . . . or so said the lyrics to this 1984 hit for a group called Rockwell
