Latoya was adopted from The Adamante Orphanage in December 2002.
Latoya is, in many ways, a typical ten-year-old. She's always been very active and she's never happier than when she's flying on her spaceboard. Mind you, she does tend to show off a little and has been known to attempt somewhat overambitious stunts. The other day, for example, she tried to do a mid-air handstand but mistimed it and ended up falling. Luckily, she was only a few feet off the ground at the time so she wasn't too badly hurt.
If there's one thing she hates, it's people who think girls should be pretty and gentle. She says they're "stuck in the past". She doesn't mind some femininity, but she'd much rather be rough-housing with the boys and she rarely wears dresses if she can help it.
Latoya generally gets on well with all her siblings and they seem to like her. But there is a bit of a sticking point at the moment - she thinks she's "too old" to play with her younger siblings and her older siblings think she's "too young" to hang round with them. She's at an awkward age, not really a child anymore but not quite an adolescent either. So she's been spending a lot of time with her school friends, although Yumi and Zinnia have begun to include her in their little clique.
I redecorated all the kids' rooms using wallpaper from Pat's Web Graphics. Since Latoya isn't too keen on anything overtly floral, she picked this abstract pattern instead.
These are Latoya's belongings. From left to right, there's a Warrior Maiden figure, a spaceboard, a toy sword and a holoviewer. Below, you can see her pet flamebird. Flamebirds are a gentle species of Thunderian bird and they're very good with children. Latoya's is named Avis, which means "bird".
This is Latoya's bedroom furniture. Purple is her favourite colour - as you can see from her wallpaper and holoviewer.
