Katie is a tabby Thunderian whom I adopted from the Adamante Orphanage in November 2002. Since I took her under my wing, she has blossomed into a happy and mischievious child with a rather cheeky outlook on life.
I can't believe how much she's grown since I adopted her! The other day, I decided to measure all the kids (which I do regularly) and found that Katie is now only a couple of centimetres shorter than Latoya was when she was first adopted.
Katie in, in many ways, a typical pre-pubescent girl. She's old enough to show an interest in her appearance but still young enough to like playing with dolls - Emily is the same and she and Katie will often spend hours acting out scenes with their dolls. Those two have been friends almost from the moment Emily joined our family and they're nearly always together. They also seem to be going through the "boys are stupid" phase if the way they yell if any of their brothers gets in their way is anything to go by.
The other day, for example, Katie was quietly looking through a pile of comics when Malachi decided he wanted to put the radio on. Of course, she got up and switched it straight back off, only for him to switch it on again . . . This went on for several minutes until I got so annoyed that I confiscated the radio for the rest of the day.
I recently decided to redecorate all the kids' rooms using wallpaper from Pat's Web Graphics. Katie chose a beautiful lilac design.

These are Katie's belongings - her doll, her bike, her favourite ball and a set of glove puppets she received for her birthday. The doll's cradle is a scaled-down version of one of the Adamante store's full-sized models.

This is Katie's bedroom furniture. As you can see, her favourite colour is blue, but she does like plain wood as well so I made sure her furniture incorporated both elements
